Free Virus Scanning and Current Virus Information

HouseCall. HouseCall is a free, online scanner that detects viruses
and cleans your PC. There's nothing to install except a small tool
and nothing to update. It does a very good job of ridding your computer

While the free scanner does a very good job detecting
and getting rid of viruses, it does not keep your computer from being
infected by viruses in the first place.

Things to keep in mind to keep your computer safe from viruses
1. You need a virus scanner that is running all the time on your computer, there are many free and commercial virus scanners available for purchase.
2. You need a full time firewall running on your computer when it is connected to the Internet. Firewall programs keep viruses, spamware, and trojans from being installed on your computer. Better to keep the junk out of your computer, than having to fix it later.
3. You might want to invest in a full time ant-spam program. These programs can catch spam and other malware that your anti-virus and firewall programs miss.
