DETROIT, April 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — U.S. Publications, Inc. announced this week the launch of an application – Criminal Tracker – designed for the new iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. It quickly tracks criminals and sex offenders within a requested 40-mile radius.
A study performed by the U.S. Department of Justice revealed that sex offenders were about four times more likely than non-sex offenders to be arrested for another sex crime after their discharge from prison – 5.3 percent of sex offenders versus 1.3 percent of non-sex offenders. And, 60 percent of convicted sex offenders are on parole or probation.
“This information is concerning,” says Simon Gojcaj, president, U.S. Publications. “That’s why we’ve decided to release this app. This app differs from similar ones in that users can enter any U.S. zip code to learn of criminals and sex offenders within a designated 40-mile range of that region in real time. Other apps only allow you to search the user’s immediate region.”
Currently, Criminal Tracker is offering the first three look-ups for free. It’s easy to use and available at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/criminal-tracker!/id490605714?mt=8.
