Crowd-Funded Mars Colony Lunches Planning Effort

SAN FRANCISCO, June 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — The Mars Colony Project is crowd-funding through to support a two-day Colony Planning Session in San Francisco, CA and the production of an e-book, ‘Colony Plan Alpha’.

“In a world where TV networks pay $10 billion dollars to televise college basketball, we need to ask what will the media rights bring for the greatest adventure ever,” said John Statton, Project creator, “if the answer equals the cost of the mission, then its time to talk; because through the private space industry you can now buy a rocket to Mars.”

The Colony Planning Session will build a high-level road map to first landing, Colony creation, and the business model needed to achieve these goals. The Session, scheduled for November 2012, will feature presenters drawn from current colony researchers, the space industry, extreme engineering, business development, media and entertainment. “Our Kickstarter patrons have the opportunity to attend the Session either in-person or via webcast,” said Statton.Mars Colony Project
